Keeping fit

A hectic schedule and sedentary job leaves me with no time for exercises. Soon, my movements slowed down. From the nimble woman that I was, I became sluggish. I was adding pounds too. Yet, I couldn’t leave my job. After much thinking, I hit upon a plan.

After awaking, I stretch my limbs for a few minutes. I deliberately arrange the cloths for the day in my upstairs room. After a bath, I make it a point to skip steps to reach for my clothes. I walk up to my car, parked at a safe distance. After every one hour, I walk up to meet colleagues. I ensure my lunch-break is a quick one and spend the rest 15 minutes walking in the park. While sitting in front of my laptop, I bend, twist and tap my feet on the footboard. I wring my wrists too. I stretch my arms and legs often.
I take the stairs back to my home on the 4th floor. While cooking, I stretch my limbs to grasp the various boxes of spices that I’ve aligned beyond my reach. During weekends, I use the vacuum cleaner and run the length of the room. I’ve realized that keeping myself fit, is fighting sloth. Hopefully this will inspire others.
